Shampoo — cleansing without stripping

The hardest part of shampoo is not cleaning hair. It is cleaning hair while leaving the scalp barrier, the colour and the cuticle intact. We build the surfactant system around that constraint.

Formulation systems we build with

Surfactant system

Primary and secondary surfactant pairing selected for foam quality, mildness and cost per wash. Sulfate-free routes usually pair an isethionate or glutamate with a glucoside.

Rheology

Viscosity held by salt curve or by a polymeric thickener depending on the surfactant base — a sulfate-free base will not respond to salt the way SLES does.

Deposition

Cationic guar, polyquaternium or silicone micro-emulsion, chosen for the claim: volume, slip or repair.

Claims this line can support

  • Sulfate-free and sulfate-reduced systems
  • Amino-acid and isethionate surfactant bases
  • Anti-dandruff actives (zinc pyrithione alternatives, piroctone olamine, climbazole)
  • Silicone-free and silicone-depositing variants
  • pH-buffered for colour-treated hair
On claims: every claim above is a formulation direction, not a pre-approved marketing statement. Any claim you put on pack has to be supportable in your market — we will tell you which ones need substantiation data before you commit to artwork.
