We work back from your cost per unit

A formulation is a set of trade-offs: mildness against foam, slip against build-up, performance against cost. Most of the work is deciding which trade-off your market will actually pay for — and that decision belongs in the brief, not at the end of development.

12 formulators, one lab

The development team works on hair care, skin care and colour cosmetics in the same laboratory, which matters more than it sounds: surfactant and emulsion knowledge moves between categories, and a hair mask benefits from the same emulsion discipline as a face cream.

Bench samples prepared in-house, not ordered from a base supplier
Reference product reverse-engineering as a standard starting route
Accelerated stability run in parallel with the sample round
Preservative efficacy testing before a formula is released
Scale-up reviewed line by line before the first production batch
How a project runs

Five stages, each with something you can hold

01

Brief

You send the market, the product type, the claim you want to make and the price the finished unit has to hit. If you have a reference product, send it — reverse-engineering a benchmark is faster than starting from a blank page.

02

Formula direction

Our formulators propose one or two route options rather than a single take-it-or-leave-it formula. Each option states the surfactant or conditioning system, the cost driver and the claim risk.

03

Bench sample

Samples are made on the bench and sent for you to use — not just look at. Texture, foam, rinse feel and scent are judged in the shower, not on a spec sheet.

Physical samples plus a specification sheet
04

Stability and compliance

Stability runs alongside the sample round. Documentation is prepared for the destination market — EU PIF support, US FDA cosmetic labelling, ASEAN, or China filing as applicable.

05

Scale-up and fill

The formula moves to the production line on the same site as the lab that developed it. Bulk, tube, bottle, jar or sachet filling, with artwork and packaging sourced or supplied.

What we will not put on a website

A fixed MOQ number

MOQ depends on the pack, the tooling and the batch size the formula needs to be economic. Any site quoting one number is quoting the best case. Ask us for your pack and you get a real figure.

A fixed lead time

A stock-pack repeat order and a new custom-moulded jar with artwork approval are not the same project. We give dates against a confirmed brief, not against a marketing claim.

"Clinically proven" claims

Efficacy claims need studies on your finished product, in your market, with the panel your regulator accepts. We support the study; we will not pretend a bench formula is a proven claim.

A promise that a formula is "EU compliant"

Compliance is product-specific and depends on the full ingredient list, the labelling and the CPSR. What we can say is that we prepare the documentation the regulation requires.

Questions we get asked

Before you send a brief

What is your minimum order quantity?

It depends on the pack format and whether tooling is needed. A stock bottle or tube runs far lower than a custom-moulded jar. Tell us the pack and the market and we will give you a real number rather than a website range.

Can you develop a formula from our brief only, without a reference?

Yes. A written brief covering hair type, claim, market and price point is enough to start. A reference product shortens the process because it removes guesswork about texture and foam.

Do you work with brands that already have a formula?

Yes — we can take an existing formula and manufacture it, subject to a review that confirms every ingredient is available, compliant in your market and producible on our equipment.

Who owns the formula?

Terms are agreed per project and written into the contract before development starts. Exclusivity and ownership are commercial terms, not something decided after the first sample.

Which markets do you export to?

We manufacture to the requirements of the destination market rather than to a single home standard. EU, US, UK, ASEAN, Australia and the Middle East each have different labelling and documentation expectations, and the brief has to name the market.

Can you supply the packaging as well?

Yes. We source bottles, tubes, jars, pumps and sachets from established suppliers, or fill packaging you supply yourself after checking that it runs on our line.

Send us a brief

Four things are enough to start: the market, the product type, the claim you want, and the price per unit you need to hit. Everything else we can work out together.
